Hungary is a country with more than thousand years of history. It might be called a bridge between East and West. Four royal cities Esztergom, Szekesfehervar, Buda and Visegrád were the medieval capital of the country. Walking through Szeged, Kecskemet, Debrecen or Sopron you will discover Roman ruins, baroque churches, and neoclassical buildings. Hungarian architecture is a great fusion of modern and traditions. Sometimes Hungary is called a bath. Everywhere you go there are hot springs. Budapest is the only capital in the world that has 123 hot springs and 400 mineral waters. In each settlement there are hospitals, resorts, pools. Hungary has the largest lake with fresh water in Central Europe - Balaton. Northern shore of the lake framed by mountains of volcanic origin. Just a few miles from its shores, there is a unique stone formation and the National Park, the world of birds and plants. The Balaton is a real paradise for lovers of sailing, water skiing, catamarans, and swimmers. As for Hungarians, they are very friendly, warm-hearted, romantic and musical people. Hardly can you visit a dinner without Gypsy music and folklore Hungarian dances. The world famous operetta "the Czardas Queen" and "the Merry Widow" have their origins from Hungary. Traveling around the country it makes sense to try local dishes: goulash soup, chicken paprikash, carp in sour cream, sausages. Hungary is inseparable from its wine. Today the Hungarians are proud of their wine, called "a ray of sunshine in a bottle" - Tokay. Hungary is stunning in everything: speaking language, preparing dishes and drinking wines like no others.
