Latvia is a beautiful country situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea and is considered the heart of the whole Baltic region. In this fascinating city every tourist can feel real spirit of the Middle Ages through the architectural style, taste the Latvian ethnic cuisine and spend time in rural wooden lodges somewhere near lake or pond, simply enjoying its rich nature. Latvia is all about trees, hilly landscapes, gentle slopes, plains, dense woods and lovely river banks. The diverse cultural heritage of Latvia contains many archeological evidences of the history. There are some old cities with deep historical past such as Rezekne, Cesis or Ludza. One of the most visited sights of Latvia is “Latvian Switzerland” called Sigulda, where one can see the romantic fortress of 12th century and the God’s Garden. Visitors usually go crazy about the Riga’s bread that is a real work of art – it can be light and dark, usually with a walnut and dried apricots. This bread is magic – it is stored not less than a month and doesn't harden at all.
