About India

IndiaIndia is a subcontinent in Asia. It is washed by seas on three sides. The north border of the country is formed by the Himalaya, the highest mountains on the Earth. The Bay of Bengal is located in the southeast. India's climate is much affected by monsoons. The hottest season lasts from April to June, the most chill – December and January. Its landscapes vary from desert and jungles to fertile soils in the Ganges Plain. For centuries people in India have special attitude for animals. Cows, for example, are sacred and allowed to freely walk the streets. A varied climate is very comfortable for 65 000 animal types: elephants, tigers, river dolphins, lions, rhinos, pythons. There are 12 000 plants. The biggest mangrove forest in the world is located at the Bay of Bengal. Some of rare animals and plants find their home in the Himalaya Mountains. Among many miracles that tourists find in India the iron pillar in Delhi is definitely the most magnificent. This metal pillar weighs six tons. The rust still has not touched the iron for fifteen hundred years. The most famous historical monument of India is Taj Mahal. Among other sights of this country there are frescoes of the Ajanta caves and rock temples of Ellora, the temple of Kailas. India can present to you an amazing mix of impressions. A ride on buffalos, an ancient art of snake charmers, a walk or hike into the Himalayas, relax in the house-boat in silver Kashmir, graceful Indian dances, wonderful souvenirs and gifts, colorful dress, exotic perfumes, handmade carpets, gems – this is just a small list of attractions that wait for you in India.
