Rijeka is the third of largest city of Croatia, situated on the shores of Gulf of Rechsk, where Rechin's river is flowing into it. The Stara Vrata is the oldest sight of the town, which were built in ancient times. The most famous one is a castle on the Trsat hill. The magnificent view on the port water area is opened exactly from here. The old city is a historic center of Rijeka, and it captivates travelers with its narrow twisting small streets, paved by a cobble-stone, picturesque houses under red tile roofs and a great amount of greens. The pedestrian street of Corzo (with traditional Austro-Hungarian architecture) will immerse you into the atmosphere of a seaport, cheerful and noisy. Modern constructions are very unostentatiously included in the architectural complexes.
